Lake Record: Common Carp Weighing 45.3 lbs

We’re thrilled to announce a new lake record for Common carp at Aqua-Paradiso! On August 13, 2022, angler Mario Swart set a new milestone by landing a stunning Common carp weighing 45.3 lbs.

Mario achieved this incredible catch using a 12mm pop-up from Sticky Baits’ Signature range, placed over a Simple Particle Mix. The rig of choice was a Spinner rig from Korda, paired with a #4 Kurv Shank hook.

But that wasn’t all – shortly after landing the lake record, Mario hooked another impressive catch, a 41-pounder, with the rig only in the water for 25 minutes! For this second catch, he used Korda’s Loops and Booms along with a #6 Wide Gape hook and a 12mm Pop-up from DNA Baits.

Congratulations to Mario for these outstanding achievements and for setting a new standard at Aqua-Paradiso. Here’s to more record-breaking moments and successful sessions!

Lake Record: Peanut – The Largest Mirror Carp at Aqua-Paradiso

We’re excited to announce a record-breaking capture at Aqua-Paradiso! After being last seen over two years ago, Peanut, the largest mirror carp ever recorded at our lake, made a triumphant return, weighing in at a remarkable 40 pounds.

Syndicate member Miguel Caldeira, after a series of unproductive winter sessions, decided to give it one last try before the carp began spawning. Despite noticing some spawning activity that initially dampened his spirits, Miguel stuck to his game plan and baited a spot he trusted.

On his final morning, his patience was rewarded when his alarm finally went off. After a brief and uneventful fight, nothing could have prepared him for what he saw in his net – a 40-pounder!

Miguel gives a big thank you to the Aqua management team, both past and present, for their exceptional care of our fish. Their dedication has made this incredible catch possible and helped Miguel achieve a long-held dream.

Here’s to more record-breaking moments and tight lines at Aqua-Paradiso!
